Y1S1GPA: 4.68 CoreHE1001 MICROECONOMICS I [3AU]Prof is engaging during lectures. Way more math than HE1002, less stuff to memorise. But flunked the finals which probably pulled my grade down. MT: 34/36 (mean: 32/36) HE1002 MACROECONOMICS I [3AU]Quite content heavy for me as someone that doesn’t like memorising content. However, it was manageable. Grade: A- HE1004 MATHEMATICS FOR ECONOMISTS [3AU]Good, motivating prof that provides a sufficient amount of practice papers. He asks for feedback in the form of surveys that will give class part, and through these surveys adjust his teaching methods. Tutorials were optional after the first tutorial, and halfway through he pre-recorded lectures for us to view if we didn't want to go to lectures. First 2 midterms are very manageable (MCQs) as questions are usually copied from the past year midterms (provided to practice). However, finals were extremely hard and I flunked it, but bellcurve, midterms, and extra point (21/20 for midterm) probably saved me. MT1: 21/20 BDEES5003 BLUE PLANET: HOW THE OCEAN WORKS [3AU]3h lecture (recorded) every week. A ton of (very interesting!) content but manageable if you are consistent and like the topic. Should pay attention to the physics lecture (Week 2) the most as it is the most confusing, but serves as a foundation. The group project is to do a video about any region of the ocean you find interesting, with randomly assigned groupmates. Overall loved learning this mod, the prof (Patrick Martin) is very engaging and would conduct live demonstrations in lectures. Recommend if you would like to learn oceanography, which has a mix of all 3 sciences, but mostly biology and physical geog. MT1: 33/50 (mean: 30.6/50) CM5002 FORENSIC SCIENCE [3AU]Grade: A Overall: 4/5 ICCCC0015 HEALTH & WELLBEING [2AU]Very manageable workload, content quite boring. Assessments reminded me of JC Project Work all over again. Would recommend my prof to others, approachable and engaging (Evelyn Au). Grade: A- |
